These two kids, Jamie & Matt (both 16), committed suicide this past week. I used to talk to Jamie back in 8th grade, she was so nice and had an amazing smile, and I saw Matt around the school in the halls, but never had the privilege of really knowing him. I know suicide happens all around the world, everyday, but to actually know someone who does it, really hits you hard. It makes you think about what you should’ve said to them. It makes you think about how they had siblings and best friends, and their whole lives ahead of them, and because of whatever reason, they felt the need to take their own life. We had a Candle Lighting Ceremony for them tonight, basically my whole school came. One by one, if they chose to, people would talk into a microphone sharing good memories. It was tragically beautiful in a way to see everyone comforting each other for this sad loss. Jamie and Matt, on behalf of everyone, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry you didn’t realize how many people there are who care and love you so so much. We miss you both. My thoughts & prayers go out to the familys’ of both Matt and Jamie.
Rest in peace.♥
